Triangle Studs

Swarovski emerald Studs
Triangle Olive Green Studs
Bead woven with Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski yellow studs
Yellow Triangle Studs
Bead woven using Delicas and Swarovski Crystals
These little studs were fashioned using the triangle motif in the Galaxy bead by Gill Slone,  The color ways were inspired by the two other studs that I have created using 8mm Swarovski rivolis which can be seen here, along with the visually aesthetic necklace here.  These studs however won't be going in to my jewelry shop {the hubby and I are working tirelessly on it to get it up and running as soon as possible!} unless I find a better glue to set the post onto the back.  The glue that I'm using right now isn't doing a great job, maybe I just need to let it cure a bit before finishing up the back. I'll test that theory out as well on some other crystals that I have laying around.  I would love it if you left opinions one these designs! I'm always looking for ways to improve my technique along with my skill set especially since I'm taking blogging seriously again so any input is valuable input at this time.

Bead Fest Philly Spark Inspiration for Earrings

This past weekend was the Philadelphia Bead Fest, which is literally five minutes from my house. The set up was different than years past and it confused me a bit.  Any who, I went with a specific list of items that I needed which included: Pyrite (I am in LOVE with pyrite, it always catches my eye), Swarovski Rivolis, Seed Beads, Seed Pearls, and Larger Pearls.  I got everything on my list except for the larger sized pearls and instead of that I got some findings, base metal clasps in silver and antique bronze, charms, and ear wires.       The problem is that even though I didn't buy a lot of things that were not on my list and the ones that I did buy were good wholesale deals, I spent ALL of my money.  Every single last bit of it.  I need to get serious about selling my creations or else I won't have enough money to continue creating.  So I'm putting the necklace that I was going to make for myself on hold for a couple of days so that I can crank out some pieces. Starting with:

8mm Swarovski Rivoli Earrings
with Pyrite
I am in love with these little beauties,  there is just the right amount of sparkle for me.  So what did I do with them?  I gifted them to my friend.  She's been asking for some jewelry (rings) but I've never gotten around to doing any of that.  So after I made these I thought to myself that these are totally her style, and what better day to give a gift than Eid. For those of you that don't know Ramadhan, the month of fasting, ended yesterday and the celebration is called Eid.  She loved them and that's all that matters.  Now I need to make some more for gifts (for weddings and things) and for the boutique and I'm thinking of expanding where I'm selling so I need an inventory for that, so much to do, so little time.

Goal: Selling some items before the International Gem and Jewelry Show September 21-23 2012

Enticing Poisoned Apples

"Dip the apple in the brew. Let the Sleeping Death seep through.
Now, turn red, to tempt Snow White, to make her hunger for a bite. "

"This is no ordinary apple. It's a magic wishing apple.
One bite, and all your dreams will come true."

Bronze Hoop Earrings

No, I didn't recently make them.  I've had them made for quite some time now and haven't been able to post them. These are simple hoops using tubular peyote stitch I would say the size is small.

Dilema Solved

So my second idea for the cuff went a lot more smoothly than the first and I was able to get the effect I wanted.
Bezeled Stone using 11/0  matte black Delicas
13/0 Czeck seed beads used for vines and leaves
Now I only need to put everything together, I have the background fabric picked, its sort of silky but not real silk. I believe the color is taupe, to be exact.  The fabric and my cuff design inspired me to design fabric based earrings as well.
Earring Sketch
The length of the earring is about 3 inches, super long, I know.  But I feel like once they're done they'll look super sexy.  I already have one of the beaded flowers done, the center stone in the picture is a round 6mm rhodonite.

It's going to take a couple of days to finish these pieces.  When they're done I'll have them up.

My Extravagant Expensive Beads

As you all are aware I am a bead fanatic and the International Gem and Jewelry Show was my heaven.  I spent all my money unfortunately, but I got awesome stuff. The most expensive set of beads that I got were quartz teardrops.  The moment I saw them I fell in love...literally. Before I bought them I tried to find something similar for less, but the ones I found were apparently garnet and immensely more expensive. So I went back to the previous stall and I bought my loves.

Pendent height: 1.5 inches; Chain Length: 18 inches

I made a matching set of earrings and a pendent necklace. I am absolutely in love with these and I'm planning on make myself some.  These are for the jewelry event that I'm partaking in.
