Mid Summer's Night Dream

Finally, I got around to using my beloved beaded beads from a couple of posts ago. Even More Beaded Beads to be exact and I only used the two at the bottom but created three more beaded beads to go along with the others. I needed a break from my previous Cuff Dilema so I did my own take on the much loved charm bracelet using the odds and ends laying around my work area, taking old jewelry pieces apart and using my beaded beads.

I might change the clasp to a lobster because the current one is too bulky.  I also had some other ideas for this as well such as instead of making this just a bracelet, some how have this be one of many interchangeable parts to make a necklace etc...    And sorry for the picture quality there is unfortunately no natural light at 10pm but tomorrow I will take more pictures and post them as soon as I can.

Dilema Dilema Dilema

I've been fiddling with some stone beads that I have, I'm not sure what they are but their color is a beautiful neutral pink.  My main idea was to bezel the stone and then have an overlay made with wire and beads in the form of vines and flowers. My original design was this:

And unfortunately turned out like this:
Bezeled Stone using Black Hexagonal Cut Toho Beads
With a Wire and Beaded Overlay
I love the effect that it has but the drops need to be flat to achieve the look that I want.  If I chose to stay with these drops than the likely hood of them getting caught in something and ruining the piece is greater.  Fortunately I have three stones like this so my original idea will be but aside until I can find flat black drops.  I adjusted my design to only vines.

Stay tuned, hopefully this idea will go more smoothly than the last.

Cuffs

I've had a metal cuff blank laying around for about a year now because I couldn't find the right combination of beads for it. So I decided to simply cover it with texured fabric and a beaded edge. The hardest part was dealing with the fabric even though I used stabilizer and Fray Check it still kept on fraying.  I'm just greatful it worked out the way I wanted.

The cuff is less than an inch wide
Covered in a Texured Fabric of Cotton and Polyester Mix
Backing is Ultra Suade
6/0 and 11/0 seed beads used for edging

With my success I went to Micheals and bought two more metal cuff blanks.  Stay tuned, I think I'm going on a cuffing spree.

Even More Beaded Beads

Yes, I know I'm obsessing over making the beaded beads and I know that I still need to incorporate them into jewelry but I'm having so much fun making them.

My next project is cover metal cuffs.  I'll have pictures up soon.
